Kellogg’s has lost a High Court legal challenge over new UK government regulations that will restrict high-sugar breakfast cereals from being displayed prominently in supermarkets (The Financial Times £).

The company, whose brands include Corn Flakes, Coco Pops and Frosties, had argued the government’s inclusion of Kellogg’s cereals among “less healthy” foods was unfair because it did not take into account the milk that was usually added them (The Guardian).

Putting milk on your cereal does not make it healthier, judges have ruled after Kellogg’s took the government to court over its plans to tackle obesity (The Telegraph).

The company said the decision was likely to cost it £5m in lost profits (The Times £).
