Motor Fuel Group has named former Applegreen retail boss Michael O’Loughlin as its managing director for acquisitions and business development.
O’Loughlin takes up the newly created role at the forecourt operator immediately.
He will be responsible for growth in MFG’s retail and food to go offering.
O’Loughlin previously worked at Petrogas as a licensee of its flagship site in Dublin until he was appointed operations and later retail director of the then newly formed Applegreen in 2008.
He left Applegreen in December 2016, after eight years as managing director of its UK business.
“The company’s rapid growth over a very short period of time is an indication of the dedication and drive of the whole team,” said O’Loughlin.
“I’m really looking forward to playing my part in the successful and dynamic model they operate.”
MFG said O’Loughlin’s keen eye for consumer trends would complement its existing team.
