Brand manager Chris Seymour says: "ACTII takes over 60%* share of trade. That's 50% more than all the competitors put together!"
ACTII is the only microwave popcorn that is produced, sold and distributed by the manufacturer in the UK. The product is guaranteed to be GM and gluten free and is suitable for vegetarians. The product range is also Kosher certified.
Available in four flavours (Salted, Butter, Cinema Sweet and Light Butter) ACTII is sold in microwaveable single bags, three bag multipacks, unique tubs and in gourmet pan-popping corn.
"Each bag produces three litres of popcorn (as much as a large cinema tub) and, as the three bag pack retails for under £2, it is excellent value," adds Seymour.
The eye-catching packaging appeals to adults and children alike. It also sees the debut of Spike. the cheeky popcorn hero, who will build brand loyalty and offer merchandising opportunities.
Seymour is keen to stress the healthiness of the product, saying: "ACTII is higher in fibre and lower in fat content than many traditional snacks. Ideal for snacking as it satisfies without spoiling the appetite and when eaten warm it is one of the most tasty and wholesome snacks available."
ConAgra are embarking on an aggressive marketing campaign. Seymour explains: "We have exclusive deals with all Warner Village and UCI cinemas, added value and promotional packs, national magazine, sampling and coupon campaigns. Already available in the five leading UK multiple grocers, and many other outlets, ACTII is set to grow by a further 30% this year."
