John Mills, managing director of Grants of St James's Wines and Strathmore Mineral Water Company, has become MD of Constellation Wines UK.
The business is part of the global wine division of Constellation Brands and was created after the parent's acquisition of Australian wine company BRL Hardy last month.
Mills began working for Matthew-Clark, part of Constellation Brands and owner of Grants of St James's Wines, in 1993 and was appointed to the board in 1997. He became MD of Grants of St James's Wines in 1999.
Further appointments announced by Constellation Brands include moving BRL Hardy's European chief executive Christopher Carson to the post of chief executive of Constellation Wines Europe. Richard Peters has been appointed chief executive of Matthew-Clark. His previous post was as the company's chief operating officer.
Constellation Wines Europe will combine the portfolio of BRL Hardy Europe and Grants of St James's Wines, offering brands such as Hardys, Banrock Station and Stowells of Chelsea.
Mills will also continue to have overall responsibility for the marketing and sales of Strathmore Mineral Water.
As part of the integration of BRL Hardy into Constellation Brands, its MD Stephen Millar has become chief executive officer of the global wine division, Constellation Wines.
Constellation Brands plans to release further details of the implications of the merger this month.
