Miso Tasty has expanded its Waitrose presence with five products intended to “make home cooking with miso easier than ever”.
The range includes soup paste, ramen paste, stock pots and a duo of glazes: Sweet & Savoury and Rich & Spicy (rsps: from £2).
It responded to shoppers’ “increasing interest in miso as a trending ingredient”, said the brand.
Miso Tasty claimed the soup and ramen pastes were the “first to market” to include Japanese dashi.
The stock pots, meanwhile, were “a simple shortcut to rich umami depth” and the glazes offered “a foolproof solution for a flavour-packed midweek meal in minutes”.
“I am delighted to launch this range of Miso Tasty lines into Waitrose,” said Miso Tasty founder Bonnie Chung.
“We have been developing these for over 12 months and are proud to have created such original products for the market.
“As a brand, we always like to lead on innovation and provide proper solutions to home cooks wanting to cook with miso (our favourite ingredient) and recreate some of their favourite Japanese-inspired dishes at home.”
The range built on the “strong performance of miso within Waitrose over the past few years”, said Waitrose world foods buyer Lucy White.
It comes after the supermarket added a 26-strong Japanese-style own-label range, called Japan Menyu, in 2023.
