Italian wine co-operative Terre Cortesi Moncaro is relying on the vanity of British consumers for its latest promotion.
The group has tied up with Waitrose for a collarette promotion to coincide with its status as the retailer's wine of the month in July. Consumers are being invited to submit a photograph of their Favourite Moncaro Moment' in the competition on bottles of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico DOC Anfora.
To be eligible to win, the photographs must feature a bottle of the wine on promotion.
Top prize in the competition, organised by distributor Eurowines, is a trip for two to the Moncaro winery in the Marche region of northern Italy.
Leo Addis, chairman of Eurowines, said: "This is a great opportunity for Moncaro to reinforce its bond with Waitrose while bringing Moncaro wines to the attention of off-trade consumers in a fun and novel way."
