George clothing MD Andrew Moore has replaced Charles Redfield as chief merchandising officer for Asda.
Moore will also retain responsibility for George, which has thrived under his watch.
He is credited by Asda with playing a major role in the 2.2% increase in first-quarter sales the supermarket revealed earlier this week.
Redfield was one of Andy Clarke’s first appointments when he became chief executive in 2010. Redfield, who switched from Sam’s Club in the US, will leave Asda at the end of May.
Asda category director Barry Williams will take over as trading director for food.
