Heinz is bringing out a mini format of its Farley’s rusks.
It claims the smaller size is easier for babies to hold and makes self-feeding more fun and less messy for mum.
Going on shelf now, the mini newcomers are available in multipacks of four 30g bags, retailing at £1.49. Each bag
contains six rusks.
“Mum and baby are spending more time out of the home,” said marketing manager Lorraine King. “This is leading to increased demand for products that are portable as well as nutritious. Coupled with this is the growing awareness of the developmental benefits of self-feeding and therefore the rise of finger food consumption within a baby’s diet.”
Finger food is one of the smaller baby food sectors but it is booming, with growth of 16% year-on-year according to Information Resources.
