Morrisons has signed up Loblaw’s food safety chief Andrew Clappen to the new position of corporate technical services director, and has also appointed Allison Taylor to head up a new loss prevention unit.
The moves are part of Morrisons’ efforts to beef up its corporate assurance teams. Clappen was previously senior vice president for food safety, quality assurance and regulatory affairs at Loblaw. He will report to group corporate services director Martyn Jones and replaces technical director Liam Pope, who is retiring after more than 25 years at Morrisons.
“These appointments ensure we have the right people in place to satisfy our external stakeholders,” said Jones.
