Morrisons is looking at using the railway network to transport goods after assessing Safeway’s use of the channel to move goods from Daventry to Scotland and from central Scotland to the Highlands. A spokesman said: “We do intend to use the rail links [used by Safeway], albeit we have divested some of the stores serviced by rail. We are also looking at using rail in other areas of the business.”
