Morrisons to double Scottish coverage for online deliveries

Morrisons has announced it is doubling the coverage of its online food delivery service in Scotland.

The expansion covers Stirlingshire, Clackmannanshire, Kinross-shire and Fife as well as parts of Perthshire.

The supermarket launched online deliveries north of the border in August last year, initially in the Edinburgh and Glasgow areas.

“We are committed to serving as much of Scotland as we can,” said Matt Kelleher, Morrisons.com managing director.

“Our customers want the opportunity to buy groceries from Morrisons.com and we’ll be investing in taking the service to them.”

Kelleher said Morrisons was also committed to, wherever possible, delivering foods from Scottish producers. This included Morrisons-branded milk from Scottish dairy farmers and potatoes, swede and red and white cabbages from Scottish farms.

Delivery prices start from 99p, with free delivery available for the first month.

Morrisons is also offering a ‘fresh check’, asking customers to confirm the freshness of the products before they accept them at the doorstep.
