The owner of RoadChef is looking for potential buyers for the business, as the motorway services giant feels the effects of the supermarket price war on fuel.

Israeli conglomerate Delek has called in NM Rothschild to find outside investors for the group, which it acquired in March 2007 in a deal worth up to £375m.

It is thought Delek would now be open to offers of around £150m for the group.

Analysts suggest RoadChef is likely to have been hurt by the ongoing price war on the forecourts being waged by the likes of Asda and Tesco.

RoadChef, which in recent times has agreed tie-ups with the likes of Costa Coffee and Kentucky Fried Chicken in a bid to boost sales, operates 30 service stations in the UK featuring Premier Travel Inns and the Wimpy fast food chain.

Last year wholesaler Palmer & Harvey McLane picked up the contract to supply RoadChef from defunct buying group Key Lekkerland.
