Moy Park is to pump £20m into its Grantham processing site to establish a new convenience foods operation.

Under the plan, the company will consolidate the Grantham site with its Wisbech convenience foods unit. Wisbech will be repositioned as a cooked sliced meats facility and some staff may be redeployed. Consultations at Wisbech have already begun and if the proposal is confirmed, employees will be offered guaranteed full redeployment at other group manufacturing sites.

The investment would help Moy Park increase capacity and develop “innovative” own-label and branded products for Moy Park’s UK customers.
