Müller Dairy has moved swiftly to plug gaps in senior roles following a period of uncertainty in its sales and marketing departments.
The yoghurt maker was forced to appoint internal interim heads of both functions in March following the departures of marketing and R&D director Chris McDonough and sales director Colin Smith, who moved to Italy to become general manager of Müller Group's operations in Verona.
But UK CEO Gharry Eccles is set to have a full complement of full-time directors again after announcing that ex-Cadbury man Lee Rolston and former Reckitt Benckiser man Gary Miller are joining the company. Rolston is leaving his high-profile role at Cadbury following its acquisition by Kraft. He is currently the confectioner's global brand director responsible for the international brand positioning of Cadbury and Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Prior to Cadbury, which he joined in the chocolate bars and drinks division in 2007, Rolston spent a decade in sales and marketing roles in the beer industry with Whitbread Beer Company and Interbrew UK, now AB-InBev.
Meanwhile, Miller joins Müller on 1 July as sales director, leaving behind a 23-year career at Reckitt Benckiser where he was most recently sales director for the UK household and personal care within the Northern Europe Division.
Prior to that, Miller was the company's sales director for the UK and Ireland, and began his career in fmcg with confectionery manufacturer Callard & Bowser.
Rolston and Miller replace interim marketing and sales heads Jonathan Dee and Russell Barnard who return to senior management roles in their respective departments.
"Lee and Gary both bring a wide range of experience from their employment with top major companies," said Eccles. "We wish both of them a good start in our company and we would also like to extend our thanks to Jonathan and Russell for their commitment during the transitional period."
