Müller’s doorstep delivery service Milk & More has teamed up with zero-waste online supermarket Good Club for a new partnership that will offer customers a range of groceries in reusable boxes and pots.
The tie-up represents Good Club’s first link-up with a retailer and will see it offer 10 predominantly breakfast-focused lines, including tea, coffee, sugar and cereals. Deliveries will start from 20 June.
The Good Club at Milk & More range also includes pasta and rice, and glass jars for storage – which join the service’s “extensive range of products delivered to doorsteps by 7am”, Milk & More said.
It is said to be part of a push by Milk & More to “further expand” its zero-waste packaging grocery lines – which already includes milk, juice, dairy alternatives, household and personal care items, all in reusable glass bottles.
The delivery service – which was spun out as a separate business under the wider Müller by majority shareholder Müller UK & Ireland in February – delivers more than 100 million one-pint glass bottles each year, which is the equivalent of 1,630 tonnes of plastic.
“As a business, we have been offering zero-waste packaging for decades, long before anyone else, and we know that it is one of the many reasons our customers choose us,” said Milk & More CEO Patrick Müller.
“Good Club at Milk & More marks a significant step forward for Milk & More’s doorstep deliveries. With no minimum order quantity and no subscription or membership fees, delivery is free too, and shoppers can order up until 9pm the night before their normal delivery day,” he added.
“Customers decant and return their empty Good Club pots with their milk bottles, to be washed and reused. This is a complete zero-waste packaging solution – there is no supply chain waste, and stock is delivered in repurposed crates.”
Good Club was launched in 2018 and said sales via its website had grown by 30% so far this year, with its range of available products increasing from 50 to 350 lines in the past 12 months, in response to customer demand.
To date, it has saved more than 600,000 pieces of plastic packaging going to waste.
Milk & More’s commitment to reducing packaging waste and willingness to work with others to develop solutions was “a guiding light”, said Good Club co-founder and CEO Ben Patten.
“We’re looking forward to providing all their customers with great products in our reusable packaging and being in a position to make reusable food packaging a solution for any brand or retailer.”
