Irish wholesaler Musgrave has installed an “advanced” food distribution network at six of its chilled and ambient warehouses so the group to operate a stock-free environment with maximum use of space.
The group said the end-to-end solution from AquiTec, would enable its SuperValu and Centra supermarkets to offer consumers a “vastly increased choice of reliable, quality fresh foods from Irish suppliers at the right price”.
AquiTec business development manager, Karen Kelly, said: “Too many companies continue to carry a high level of safety stock, which is just not necessary.
“As Musgrave demonstrates, the latest software applications can improve speed and agility throughout the supply chain, bringing significant competitive advantages to users.”
