We know the Phileas Fogg range and already perceive it as something more tasty and exciting than your average salt and vinegar crisps. The new packaging added to the impression of authenticity, and the bright colours and pictures of local people attracted us to read further. The descriptions of the products on the reverse of the packs were delightful so our expectations were high and we were not to be disappointed. The most striking product is Spicy Habaneo Tortillas. This is for those who enjoy spicy snacks but it works best with a cooler dip, such as the barbecue flavour. It wasn't our favourite but men might enjoy it with a pint. The slightly less spicy Sweet Chilli Crackers would be excellent at parties. They look interesting and are not too spicy to enjoy with the Chunky Salsa dip ­ chunky is definitely the right description ­ or the Sweet Chilli version. The Coriander and Coconut Poppadoms were a huge hit and received compliments such as "very tasty". These were my favourites but the Lemongrass and Coconut Crackers, which were also very easy to eat and had an unexpected and unique flavour, came a close second. The Mexican Cheese Tortillas were very impressive without being too cheesy and, together with the Chunky Salsa Dip, would be excellent for a video evening. The Sour Cream and Jalapeno Meze Snacks looked unusual but, disappointingly, tasted unusual'. The Smoky Mesquite tortillas were very smoky with a wonderful blend of Mediterranean flavours while the Classical Mexican had more colour than the other tortilla chips but a rather bland flavour. However, their blandness meant that they worked well with all three dips. Overall, the range offered excellent packaging and good value for money and I know what I'm taking to our next evening in ­ the Coriander and Coconut Poppadums. {{P&P }}
