Nick Miller, chief executive officer of Meantime Brewery Company, has poached his former brand manager at Miller Brands UK to head marketing at the Greenwich-based craft brewer.
Richard Myers, who worked on Miller Genuine Draft’s UK marketing, takes up the role of director of marketing at Meantime, where he will oversee the brand’s first above-the-line campaign - details of which have yet to be unveiled.
He has worked in the drinks industry for 10 years, starting his career with Bacardi Brown Forman where he looked after marketing and sales to the independent on-trade.
At Miller, where Miller was MD until July last year, he launched and managed the brand’s music sponsorship campaigns. He also launched Miller Genuine Draft in the North of England.
“Richard is a marketer with a great track record in drinks marketing and there is an amazing opportunity at Meantime to take a developing brand with a great following of those in-the-know and to make sure it grows sustainably,” Miller said.
Miller joined Meantime in September last year, having worked at Miller Brands UK since October 2005. He joined as sales director and was appointed managing director three years later.
Earlier this month, Meantime Brewing Company launched a new seasonal beer, Yakima Red, which is made from a mixture of hops grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington State and UK and German malts.
