The Bolton based wine shipper Myliko has nearly doubled its business by taking over Hazeley Wines.
Hazeley was set up in Chester in 1993 and specialised in supplying South African wines to the UK.
Its acquisition should increase Myliko's turnover to £7m.
The wine brands that Hazeley handled included Welmoed from the Stellenbosch Vineyards Group, Clear Mountain from Bovlei, and a Chilean, Via Vina from Tocornal.
Myliko supplies most of the major operators in the UK off-trade either on an ex-cellars and full container basis or in smaller quantities through its bonded warehouse.
It has specialised in creating different styles of wine and provides exclusive and own label products to the multiples.
The brands in its collection include Chapel Hill from the Nagyrede Estate in Hungary, Spice Trail, which comprises red and white blends, and Ashgrove from South Africa."
Marketing director Nish Kotecha said: "We wanted to expand our UK business. One of the ways of doing that was acquiring Hazeley.
"It increases our portfolio, gives us access to new customers and creates economies of scale."
Joining Myliko from Hazeley is its managing director Simon Ely, who becomes commercial director.
Martin Allen takes on the role of southern sales manager.
