Oatcake maker Nairn’s has expanded its gluten-free lineup with a new range of flatbreads.
Made from gluten-free wholegrain oats, Nairn’s Gluten Free Flatbreads are available now in Sainsbury’s in Original and Rosemary & Sea Salt variants (rsp: £1.75/150g).
At just 55 calories per flatbread, they are pitched as an ideal alternative to a sandwich, or healthy accompaniment to a soup or salad.
“Much bigger than a cracker, but even more light and crispy, Nairn’s Gluten Free Flatbreads are the perfect lunchtime option for consumers who want something a little more substantial,” said Paddy Cronin, sales director at Nairn’s Oatcakes.
The NPD heralds a new direction for Nairn’s, which is moving beyond the oatcake category and eyeing the savoury lunchtime market, with plans to roll out further gluten-free lines in 2018.
“Our gluten-free range continues to grow from strength to strength - we’re adding to it all the time now that we have the capacity at our new state-of-the art gluten-free bakery which opened last November,” said Cronin.
“Our NPD pipeline contains a number of further new gluten-free products for 2018 and beyond.”
