Ocado has signed a three-year deal with digital security company Namogoo to protect customers against the growing threat of malware.
The deal will see Namogoo protect customers’ data and privacy while they browse Ocado, as well as its specialist sister sites fetch.co.uk and sizzle.co.uk.
Namogoo estimates that one in three online users worldwide have invisible malware on their systems - a problem that has grown by 325% over the past 12 months.
Its partnership with Ocado will protect its users from malware, which can result in injected ads, product recommendations and affiliate hacking - potentially luring customers away to competitor sites.
Ocado said the move was part of its strategy to implement the “most innovative solutions” for customers and ensure a “safe and frictionless experience” on its site.
“It is our ambition to be a digital retail leader and that means being proactive when considering how we protect our customers and offering the most effective and safest shopping experience across all channels,” said Thomas Thomaidis, head of marketing and insight for grocery at Ocado.
