Premium Italian food brand Napolina has extended its range into Bruschetta topping.
The product, which can be served on toasted bread such as bruschetta or ciabatta, is made from chopped tomatoes in olive oil, along with garlic, chilli and basil, and comes in 270g jars with an rsp of 79p.
It has listings with several major multiples and is beginning to roll out now.
Marketing director Remmelt Jongkind said the topping was part of an ongoing product development strategy to expand the range and strengthen Napolina's position as the key Italian food brand for consumers. "Bruschetta is one of the most popular starters served in Italian restaurants and research suggests that consumers are increasingly aiming to recreate restaurant-style food in their own kitchens," he added.
Napolina, which is owned by Princes International Trading, currently encompasses 120 products, including olive oil, pasta, cooking sauces and tomatoes. It added focaccia bread flavoured with rosemary, Italian anchovy fillets in olive oil and grated cheese to the portfolio last year.
