A halal babyfood brand from Norway has made its UK debut.
Available now, the Nasim’s range comprises two infant formulas – one for babies aged up to six months and one for six months onwards (rsp: £9.99/800g), together with five meal pots suitable for six to 10-month olds (rsp: £1.39/120g pot).
Recipes – which are all free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives and fortified with iron - include oriental salmon, cottage pie and spaghetti Bolognese.
The products, which are produced in Morocco and the Netherlands, would tap into a “serious lack of halal babyfood in northern Europe”, said company founder Nasim Rizvi – a Norweigan mum of Pakistan origin.
“Many Muslim children living in northern Europe suffer from iron and vitamin D deficiency partly caused by a lack of meat in their diets,” she added.
The distributor is Worldwide Brands.
