Fresh produce supplier Natures Way Foods is looking to extend its Lasting Leaf salad brand into fruit and vegetables, The Grocer can reveal.
The company has applied to register two trademarks for ‘Lasting Fruit’ and ‘Lasting Veg’ with the Intellectual Property Office.
“Lasting Leaf has grown extremely quickly and we have a variety of ideas in the pipeline, of which Lasting Fruit and Lasting Veg are just two,” said marketing manager Melanie Dean.
Salads in the range - launched in 2010 and stocked in Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Morrisons and Ocado - are blanched before packing to ensure they stay fresh for two days longer than standard cut lettuce.
