Asda director of retail change Keith Nesbitt has left the company after 25 years.
He had held the head office role for 18 months, after moving from his job as retail managing director for Asda's northern stores. He first joined Asda as general store manager.
Last month Nesbitt spoke at IGD's Availability and Demand Planning Conference and revealed that Asda's availability fell from about 97% to just under 96% as a result of Asda's failure to accurately read demand last year. However, he said that availability had now recovered and levels had reached the highest they had been for five years.
Nesbitt had recently been working to improve space planning and inventory accuracy in-store and had been working with suppliers to improve demand forecasting. It is understood he does not have a job to go to.
