Nestlé has made a trio of senior appointments.
It has promoted Nicolas Wahli, formerly MD for northern Europe markets, to the role of UK & Ireland MD for Cereal Partners, the joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills, which produces and sells cereals such as Shredded Wheat, Cheerios and Nesquik.
Wahli would be in charge of “the team dedicated to the continuous creation and offering of tasty breakfast cereal”, said Nestlé, with “nutritional superiority at the forefront of his mind”.
Wahli said it would be “a great privilege” to lead the business in “the biggest market for Cereal Partners Worldwide globally and steeped in so much heritage”.
“Many of our cereals are grown and produced here and are enjoyed by millions of families every day. My focus is on being sustainable and committed to better food, better lives and a better planet. My focus is on being sustainable and committed to better food, better lives and a better planet.”
The Kit Kat owner has also appointed Alex Gonnella as group marketing director for the UK & Ireland. Gonnella was previously marketing director for Nestlé’s UK confectionery business.
Gonnella had “played a pivotal role in the succes of Nestlé Confectionery’s brand portfolio expansion and supported important sustainability commitments”, said Nestlé, including the move to make all Smarties packs paper-based.
In his new role he would be “responsible for leading a high-performing and inclusive markting team, servicing all Nestlé categories and helping the business achieve its full ambition”.
Nespresso UK & Ireland, too, has appointed a new CEO. Anna Lundstrom, formerly Nespresso’s global chief brand officer, has taken over from Guillaume Chesneau, who has moved on to become business executive officer for France.
Lundstrom joined Nespresso in 2010 as brand manager, and went on to hold titles including brand communications manager and head of brand identity. She joined the business’s leadership team as CBO in 2020.
“The UK & ROI are home to dynamic and fast-paced coffee scenes, shaped by exciting new trends and opportunities”, she said.
“I’m looking forward to this new chapter at Nespresso, as the business continues to innovate and evolve to meet the needs of our customers, and deliver the high-quality, sustainable coffee experiences we are renowned for.”
