Nestlé’s premium chocolate range Les Recettes de L’Atelier is making its UK debut, four years after its launch in mainland Europe.
The brand, which translates roughly as ‘the recipes of the workshop’, is rolling out this week exclusively to Sainsbury’s.
The launch came “following impressive growth across Europe” said Nestlé. Les Recettes de L’Atelier began in 2014 in Switzerland and France and had since become the fastest-growing Nestlé confectionery brand in Europe and third-biggest premium brand in the overall confectionery market, said the Swiss food giant. The brand is now sold in more than 15 countries.
In the UK, seven variants of sharing bar are available in Sainsbury’s across milk, dark and blonde chocolate: Raisins, Almonds & Hazelnuts; Orange Zest & Cacao Nibs; Whole Roasted Almonds & Hazelnuts (rsp: £3.50/195g); Salted Caramel; Roasted Almonds; Blueberries (rsp: £2/115g), Almonds & Hazelnuts; and Cranberries, Almonds & Hazelnuts (rsp: £2/100g).
The visible fruit and nut inclusions gave each bar “a handmade, artisanal feel”, said Nestlé. Every square of chocolate – made with 100% certified sustainable cocoa – was “completely unique”, it added.
The premium Les Recettes de L’Atelier would fill “a gap in what we offer here in the UK” said Nestlé marketing director Alex Gonnella. The brand was “a brilliant, luxury product” and a key part of the company’s plan “to keep our portfolio fresh and give confectionery fans exactly what they are looking for.”
The UK launch will be supported on Facebook and Instagram and through a range of in-store activity.
