Nestlé has agreed to buy Northern Foods' Ski and Munch Bunch brands, together with its yogurt facility at Cuddington in Cheshire, for £145m.
It said the move was part of a refocus on the key categories of beverages, confectionery, chilled dairy, milk and nutrition.
Nestlé said it was also putting up for sale its ambient food business, comprising brands such as Crosse & Blackwell, Branston Pickle and Sarsons Vinegar, with a total turnover of £100m.
Northern Foods will retain Eden Vale in Minsterley, Shropshire, which will concentrate on producing dairy desserts under retailer labels and the Mars brand.
