Nestlé Purina has expanded its posh Gourmet Revelations lineup of wet food for cats with Fine Cuts In Gelée.

Available in Chicken and Salmon, the new product comprised “delicate transparent jelly and finely diced tender cuts”, said Purina. It offered a new texture to the Gourmet Revelations range – which was now “able to provide exquisite mealtimes to a wider range of feline connoisseurs”.

Like other Gourmet Revelations lines, Fine Cuts in Gelée is in a pyramid shape that “could encourage the full range of natural wide bite/lick-bite/lick/chew behaviours”, the brand added. It had been “developed with the insights of a behavioural study into the impact of the product shape, conducted by Purina scientists”.

The new product was “designed for owners who are increasingly looking to bond with their feline companions and want to feed them visibly appealing and delectable food, whilst also being convenient to serve”.

Available from April, each Fine Cuts in Gelée meal comes in a 57g pot in packs of two, four and 48 (rsps: TBC).

Pet owners “actively seek ways to show love and affection towards their cats. Seeing them admire and savour their food is a crucial part of that”, said Sareena Kainth-Patel, senior brand manager for Gourmet.

“We’ve undertaken extensive research to develop a product which is perfectly shaped to create the ultimate feline foodie ritual. In addition, our patented packaging design is truly unique in the category and helps to offer a premium serve.”

The premium Gourmet Revelations offer made its debut in 2021 with Mousse With Cascading Gravy. The design of packaging is meant to provide an easy serve, while the food retains its pyramid shape as it is released from the pot, reducing potential mess.
