Sir, I am writing in response to your recent Nestlé Waters article ('Nestlé seeks a place for Buxton water at the breakfast table', 28 May), which stated that Nestlé Waters was encouraging independent retailers to offer multibuy deals, such as Kit Kat and a bottle of Buxton, for £1.
I wanted to clarify that, while Nestlé Waters is encouraging independent retailers to offer multibuy deals, it is not promoting Kit Kat and a bottle of Buxton for £1. Nestlé Waters has provided retailers with 'magic eight' PoS material that enables retailers to choose their own pricing strategy for these cross promotions.
We are committed to working with and supporting independent retailers and as you noted in the article, retailers are invited to enter a competition to win a £500 prize.
