The thriving imported bottled beer category has grown further with the UK launch of American and Belgium brands.
Distributor and importer Clay Beers, which was responsible for bringing Belgium beer Duvel to the UK, is releasing a range of beers which it hopes will tap into a growing consumer taste for foreign brews.
Vedett is a Belgium blonde beer with a “delicate yeasty flavour” which is gaining listings in supermarkets.
Brooklyn Lager is a full-flavoured 5% abv brew which the company said was more similar in taste to an English pale ale than massed-produced lager brands. It is brewed at the New York-based Brooklyn Brewery, which will also supply two seasonal beers, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Post Road Pumpkin Ale to multiples.
