Crystal Drinks the company owned by Cott Beverages until two years ago is launching a traditional style cola called Old Georgia Cola.
The company said: "It is made exactly the way cola used to be with Kola Nut and Coca Leaf extract." It has sourced the recipe from Georgia in the US, where cola originally came from. The diet and regular variants are available in 500ml widemouth PET bottles and two litre bottles.
Its positioning in the already crowded cola fixture will be great taste and authenticity'. The pricing is mid-tier, with the two litre retailing for 69p.
A company spokesman said: "This will deliver the right level of margin for retailers so it will be extremely attractive."
