Sainsbury’s has lost a further member of its wine team, with buyer David Peek leaving the retailer to join Copestick Murray Wine Solutions as commercial director.
Peek joined Sainsbury’s in June 2010 from Waverley TBS, where he was commercial controller. He also held various roles at Tesco and Majestic Wine.
Mark Juggins, who is a senior buyer at Sainsbury’s, will join the beer, wine and spirits team next month, following the reshuffle.
In January, Sainsbury’s winemaker Clem Yates MW left the retailer to join Off-Piste Wines as sourcing and supply director, and senior wine buyer Julian Dyer joined Australian Vintage to help develop the company’s off-trade business.
“Since joining Sainsbury’s almost two years ago, David has made a significant contribution to the sparkling wine, Champagne, Italy and South African categories,” said Sainsbury’s BWS category manager Andy Phelps. “We wish him the best of luck in his new role.”
