A farmers’ co-op that makes a premium rapeseed oil for the Welsh market has expanded its production.
From the end of March, it will make Flower of Gold - from oilseed rape grown in Cheshire which is then pressed at Derwydd, a farm north of Carmarthen. The Welsh rapeseed oil, Blodyn Aur, is already available in Welsh Asda stores (rsp: £2.89/250ml, £3.99/500ml). The co-op was founded by farmers Llyr Jones, Medwyn Roberts and Bryn Jones in April 2010.
