The results are in from the inaugural Library Collection, a brand new wine competition run by the International Wine Challenge (IWC).
Unlike the regular annual IWC contest, the Library Collection focuses on the aging potential of wine.
Andrew Reed, MD of William Reed Business Media, which runs the IWC, said the competition offered the trade an opportunity to stock the best-quality gifting wines before the Christmas period. “The Library Collection is setting a new standard in the diversity and excellence of wine competitions,” said Reed.
All the wines were judged blind by an expert panel. One of the best performers, scoring an impressive 96 points out of a 100, was the French sweet wine, Vendemiaire 2003 from Alain Brumont.
