TM Retail has appointed Tony Start as its new trading director responsible for buying, marketing and distribution.
Start’s most recent senior appointment was with Balfour, where he was commercial director. He was a member of the management buyout team, made up of a group of former One Stop directors, that purchased Balfour in 2000. He left after its acquisition by The Co-operative Group. He had been commercial director at One Stop.
Start has also been retail director at Spar UK, as well as holding senior appointments at Somerfield and Budgens.
In his new role, he will be reporting directly to managing director Steve Wilkinson.
TM Retail operates 1,300 stores across the UK, of which 300 are convenience stores.
