Tony O'Reilly, who resigned as chairman of Heinz in September, gained an honorary knighthood in the New Year Honours. Ian Galloway, chairman of Scotbeef, was made a CBE. Roy Delves, chairman of Harry Tuffin Supermarkets, was made an MBE for services to the community in Church Stoke, Powys. OBEs went to Alison Austin, Sainsbury's head of environmental and technical communications and sustainable development, and to Prof Peter Aggett, for services to the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes. NFU deputy director general Ian Gardner was also made an OBE as was Unilever project director Tim Cooper-Jones and managing director of Bass Ireland Bob McGee. {{NEWS }}
