Nexba is expanding its range of functional drinks into nootropics.
It has rolled three sparkling drinks – Focus, Glow and Calm – into Holland & Barrett (rsp: £2.29/330ml).
Focus is billed as a “zingy” passionfruit drink with ginseng, green tea and vitamin D.
Glow, meanwhile, was a “refreshing” grapefruit drink with ginkgo biloba, aloe vera and vitamins A and C, said the brand, while Calm was a “deliciously fresh and juicy” blueberry drink, containing ashwagandha, camomile and vitamin B.
All three drinks contained “only natural and active nootropic ingredients” with no sugar, and are claimed to “support mental wellbeing and create better mood management”, said Nexba.
They were suitable for “everyone, from the health-conscious consumer to the person looking to feel good, improve focus and be calm”, the brand added.
The launch comes as Nexba has spent recent months making concrete efforts to expand beyond its kombucha heartland.
For instance, it recently unveiled a range of sugar-free, zero-caffeine energy drinks with added prebiotics.
However, Nexba certainly isn’t the only soft drinks brand hoping to lure health-conscious consumers with added-benefit innovations.
Take Energy One, which last month entered the market with a duo of functional energy drinks with added B vitamins; or Headstand, which debuted its “calming” coffee leaf seltzer in May.
It’s not just startups – established players are also hoping to capitalise on functional launches, too. Vita Coco recently launched a CBD-infused cola drink, while Fentimans unveiled a trio of vitamin-enriched drinks in February.
