The NFU has called on Arla to shield farmers from volatility in the milk market after it reduced its farmgate price by more than 2ppl for March.
Dairy board chairman Michael Oakes criticised Arla for failing to prevent steep price drops for its farmer owners, who have seen a total price drop of 5.19ppl since December.
It came as Müller announced cuts for April, with prices set to fall to 26.5ppl for direct suppliers, as the European market remains under significant pressure.
