Barry Nicholls has been named as the new chairman of The Dairy Council.
Nicholls, who is chief executive of Milk Link, takes up the role on April 1 in addition to his role at Milk Link, replacing Christian Fox who has been chairman since 2004.
Nicholls has worked in the dairy industry for a number of years, having also held positions at Unigate and Hazlewood. As chairman, he will work with Dr Judith Bryans, director of The Dairy Council, to provide information on health and nutrition to stakeholders, health professionals and the media.
He said: "At a time when food and health issues are high on the political agenda, nutrition is key for the dairy industry.
"As chairman of The Dairy Council, I am looking forward to supporting the organisation in its role as the source of dairy nutrition knowledge."
