Nisa has made another key appointment as it continues to develop a new management structure to become a more retail-focused business.
Nigel Gray has been appointed to the new role of business unit director for symbol. He will take up the role in April. He joins from Spar wholesaler Henderson Group where he was retail and operations director responsible for the commercial and operational performance of 80 company-owned sites across Northern Ireland.
Prior to Henderson Group, he worked at M&S, starting as an assistant store manager before progressing to regional manager for Northern Ireland and Isle of Man.
“I am genuinely excited to join Nisa and look forward to continuing to build on the success of the company,” Gray said. “I’m confident that with my retail experience I can make positive changes and bring new ideas.”
Gray is the latest in a string of key hires for Nisa in the past few months. In November, Nisa appointed Steve Leach as business unit director for independent & specialists. Ian Bishop and Jenny Holmes also both joined the marketing team from Costcutter last year, while Amanda Jones joined from M&S as chief operating officer in April.
Jones said: “We are delighted to welcome Nigel on board. His appointment demonstrates the positive direction Nisa is taking to become more retail and consumer-focused so the business is better equipped to deliver retail solutions and benefits to our wide range of members.”
