Buying group Nisa-Today’s has doubled its supplier base for fresh produce by appointing six additional fruit and vegetable suppliers.
The company said the move marked a shift towards suppliers who specialised in specific areas.
The new suppliers specialise in areas including exotic fruit and vegetables, salads and organics.
John Sharpe, MD of central distribution trading at Nisa-Today’s, said: “Having suppliers with close contacts to growers means we know exact information about the products. It also means we can ensure consistency of product quality.”
