Nisa has developed a new app that lets retailers order groceries by scanning a product using their mobile.
Customers can also check prices, promotions, and view deliveries.
The app’s scanning function using a mobile’s built-in camera means retailers can avoid having to fork out for “expensive, handheld scanning equipment” according to Nisa.
Nisa head of business systems Peter Walker said: “Standalone handheld ordering units have, to date, been a costly piece of equipment and often restrictive to use. With this app, the full Nisa range can now be easily searched regardless of location, and with the quick order function utilising a mobile’s camera to read barcodes, ordering is now simpler and faster than ever.”
The symbol group launched the app following a successful three-month trial.
“The app allows retailers to check products, promotional offers, place orders and check deliveries whilst they are on the move,” said Walker.
A utilities function allows retailers to quickly calculate any combination of margin, cost or sale price to help maximise profits in store.
Members can also check their Nisa deliveries and see presells, substitutions and amendments to orders.
Walker said: “I’m confident the app will make a big difference to our members as they get on board in the coming weeks.”
