Flower sales at Nisa are blooming as retailers in the symbol group take advantage of an expanded range available through the Co-op.
Almost 370 partners have bought into the floral range, covering about 2,000 stores, with sales in the category up 30% for the past six months compared with the same period the previous year.
A wide collection of flowers was made available to Nisa retailers on pre-sell last autumn for key events, including Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
New spring flower lines recently added to the range include tulips, daffodils and lilies.
“The Co-op flower range really is fantastic and its availability to our independent Nisa partners certainly gives them the edge over the competition,” said Nisa category controller Josie Bates.
“With products sourced from accredited growers, cohesive packaging across the range, hand-finished bouquets made by skilled florists, end-to-end traceability of product and specially selected varieties by experienced teams with the end customer in mind, it really is a great addition to any store.”
Shoppers at Guild Foods Market in Guildford are enjoying the availability of competitively priced, high-quality bouquets with the range selling well since it was introduced last autumn.
Gary Kemp, business development manager at Guild Foods Market, added that the new floral range was selling well since it was introduced last year.
He said: “The flowers have done really well for us since we put them in. They are great flowers at a good price and our customers seem to be happy with what we have. There’s a great opportunity for shoppers to trade up to the large bouquets which are very well priced as well as purchasing the more everyday bunches.”
