He will be responsible for managing Nisa’s largest corporate accounts such as Ramsden International

Nisa has hired former PepsiCo sales director for Sainsbury’s and Waitrose Paul Webster as its new head of partnerships.

In the newly created role, which he started this month, Webster will be responsible for managing the company’s largest corporate accounts, such as Ramsden International, as well as Nisa’s strategic partnerships with Costcutter and Shell.

The symbol group said he will be instrumental in delivering its long-term sales plan and driving the Co-op wholesale proposition.

Webster joins Nisa from PepsiCo. During his tenure at the business, he held several key positions including most recently as sales director for Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. In 2019, he took on responsibility for PepsiCo’s convenience business.

“Paul’s extensive experience in managing high-profile accounts, building strategic partnerships, and leading successful teams will be invaluable as we continue to drive our ambitious growth plans,” said Nisa sales and retail director Katie Secretan.

“His passion for collaboration and proven ability to deliver exceptional results are going to be crucial for this pivotal role and I’m thrilled to welcome Paul to the team.”

Webster said: “The opportunity to contribute to the growth of a business that is so deeply rooted in supporting and growing its corporate partners and independent retailers is incredibly motivating, and I’m looking forward to joining a team that is at an important and exciting part of its growth journey.”

His appointment follows a string other recruits that have recently joined Nisa’s senior leadership team. These include Taranjit Singh Dhillon as head of retail, Ian King as head of business development, Lauren Brogden as head of sales engagement and Joy McAleese to head of wholesale.

Andrew Rutter was also recently promoted to head of key accounts, where he oversees the strategic management of multi-site retailers including The Dougall Group, LA Foods, and PGNJ. He will report into Webster.

It comes as The Grocer revealed last month that Nisa MD Peter Batt is set to leave the business along with commercial director Ayaz Alam.
