Nisa is bringing in fresh milk and sandwiches into central distribution to generate the critical mass to provide a six- day delivery service to all members.
Available from September 30, the new ranges will substantially boost turnover at Nisa central distribution, providing over 1,300 retailers with all their requirements from a single source, said central distribution deputy md John Sharpe.
"Our new offering is completely unprecedented in the independent sector and gives our members a vital competitive edge...As well as the obvious cost advantages, the new service will bring retailers a host of benefits, including reduced stock holding, fresher products, better shelf life and reduced out of stocks."
The 27-strong sandwich range and 15 fresh milk lines will be packaged under the Heritage brand, which will be extended into organics for the first time with four new milk lines. There will also be a range of Heinz healthy eating sandwiches under the Weight Watchers brand.
