A Nisa partner is offering its shoppers a new online ordering system that promises a delivery time of just 30 minutes.
The retailer, James Brown, began home deliveries from his store in Heysham, Morecambe at the height of the coronavirus crisis through telephone orders, but this proved time-consuming, he said.
Now shoppers can place their order electronically through the store’s Facebook page as a more time-effective solution for staff.
“The demand during lockdown was big so we started making deliveries,” said Brown.
“But I knew we needed to find a better solution because taking orders over the telephone was very time-consuming when the shop was already busy.”
The retailer has branded his van to advertise the new service. It requires a £10 minimum spend and has a £2 to £3 delivery fee, depending on distance. The service reaches customers up to a three-mile radius from the store.
“Our unique selling point is the turnaround we’re offering,” Brown added.
“Shoppers access the ordering site through Facebook and can browse through all the categories. There are special offers on there and it’s very simple to use.
“There are no inflated prices and a small delivery charge with a minimum spend of £10.
“We’re advertising on the side of the van as well as social media. It’s something I wanted to try and so I’m hopeful it will work, and we’ll reap the rewards.”
