Northern Foods has acquired the chilled soup manufacturing plant of Baxters Food Group for an undisclosed cash sum.
The 70,000 sq ft site in Grimsby would create a bespoke production site for Northern Foods' growing soup business, the food manufacturer said.
“With both our soup and ready meal capacity increasingly constrained, buying the Baxters facility provides us with an additional high quality manufacturing facility, in a cost efficient manner without adding new capacity into the industry,” said Northern Foods CEO Stefan Barden.
