Asda is planning to build a £30m distribution centre at Skelmersdale, in Lancashire, to distribute chilled and frozen food to stores in north west England.
The 347,000 sq ft depot is to be operated in conjunction with Asda’s existing centre in Lancashire, at Wigan, which will continue to handle ambient goods. Construction is expected to finish in August and is being handled by Asda’s property subsidiary Gazeley Properties.
