Shoppers have posted to X complaining they are struggling to find Oatibix

Oatibix fans have struggled to get hold of the cereal over recent weeks due to “scheduled maintenance” at owner Weetabix’s production facility.

Several shoppers have taken to X to complain that Weetabix’s oat breakfast biscuits have disappeared from supermarket shelves in various regions around the UK.

“What has happened to the UK’s supply of Oatibix?” posted one shopper. “It’s my breakfast cereal of choice and now not stocked in any major supermarket. Do we have an oats crisis?”

Another shopper wrote: “Is there any reason @weetabix why I can’t locate Oatibix Biscuit cereal in Seaford, Newhaven, Eastbourne or Crowborough?”

In response to a third shopper, who claimed she had been unable to find the cereal for her autistic daughter despite searching “high and low across London”, another consumer replied: “I wrote to Weetabix customer service and they said they are focusing current production on Weetabix, and Oatibix will be back on shelves by end of November.”

This comes after shoppers last month took to X to complain Weetabix Protein had disappeared from shelves. When approached by The Grocer, Weetabix said its Protein spin-off was impacted by “temporary” disruption, but declined to comment further.

Both Oatibix 24-pack and Weetabix Protein 24-pack were out-of stock online at Tesco and Sainsbury’s at the time of publishing. However, both products were available in Morrisons and Asda.

“We’re sorry that some stores have run short of Oatibix,” a spokesman told The Grocer.

“Such shortages have been localised, and were linked to our need to prioritise production of Weetabix Original.

“We have recently switched our ovens back to our other favourite flavours and expect normal supply to resume soon.”

“Production was limited to allow for scheduled maintenance which has now been completed,” the spokesman added.
